Dragon Coast Book VI
A human ascetic cleric of Ilmater.
Peccable is a gaunt man in his mid-twenties with pale, almost translucent, skin and sparkling, silver eyes. His face is open and kind, seeming to shine with an inner radiance. A grey teardrop is tattooed at the edge of his left eye. He wears a hooded, open-faced robe of homespun grey cloth, sandals, and clutches a plain, wooden staff which he uses as a walking stick for he walks with a pronounced limp. A holy symbol hangs from a chain around his neck.
When he was a child, his parents were attacked and killed whilst on a pilgrimage to the Ilmatari Monastery of the Yellow Rose, which is located at the Glacier of the White Worm, north of Damara. During the attack, the family’s wagon collapsed and the child’s right leg was shattered beneath it, trapping him. The child prayed to Ilmater to protect him from the attackers. An angel appeared, slew them, and then carried the child to the Monastery. The touch of the angel had turned the child's hair pure white and his eyes silver. The angel named the boy 'Peccable' and asked the Adorned there to instruct him as a priest.
Peccable became a devout Cleric of Ilmater and Disciple of St. Sollars the Twice-Martyred. Took personal, informal vows of abstinence, poverty, & chastity. His right leg never healed properly and he walks with apronounced limp and cannot run. He uses his staff as a walking stick more than as a weapon but, when he needs to defend himself, he does not require it to move.
In his 21st year, he undertook the sacred vow of poverty, forswearing all material possessions in a holy ritual. He then left the monastery to spread the teachings of Ilmater and to perform good deeds for the peoples of Faerun.
